Just curious. Why is holding a spot foul in HS, but not in college or the pros? Pros? Cons?

I thought holding was a spot foul in pros and college too, just that most of the time it occurs on the line of scrimmage

It's a spot foul unless it happens behind the LOS in the NFL. Then it's from the previous spot. Just googled it.

Just seems extreme in HS when it's not the same in the pros where they're usually better abled to make up the lost yardage with today's passing games.

There are many rules in HS football that are not the same as the NFL or the NCAA. Just like personal fouls. They are automatic first downs (against the defense) in the NFL and NCAA. However in high school if you get a 15 yard face mask penalty and the down was 2nd and 20, they would mark off the 15 yards. If the penalty wasn't enough to get the first down, the next play would be 2nd and 5. (That's assuming the face mask happened at the line of scrimmage.)

Not to my knowledge.... If there's contact it's interference, if not no foul

There is face guarding in high school "it is forward-pass interference if any player hinders an opponents vision without making an attempt to catch, intercept or bat the ball, even though no contact was made."
