Which coach/staff did the most with the least

Post by youngbuck »

We know Justin Wheeler was loaded and Wilson at Tyrone has a really nice team
But who did well without superstars?
What team pulled together and impressed you

Williamsburg and Southern Huntingdon come to mind in the ICC. Northern Bedford as well...they beat a few teams they probably should not have.

If you at area teams, Central and Penn Cambria did well this year, both made the playoff.

I have to say Ferndale. They didn't forfeit one game this year.

I know this doesn't pertain to this year but Mike Smith when he was at Juniata Valley was known for doing this year in and year out. That guy did great with the small number of kids and the talent he had. The Hornets were ALWAYS competitive and in the mix when he was at the helm. Heck of a nice guy too.

Bill Packer at Penns Manor. 8-2 Regular season with only one returning Senior Starter. Most people picked them 5-5 being generous.

Definitely agree with the Southern Huntingdon comment. Ryan Garlock went from being ousted as head coach, to needing to reapply and interview to keep his position, to making it to the district playoffs.

I'm with knowitall here....I mean there are a few other coaches/staffs/teams that do deserve some recognition, however the staff at Ferndale getting through a whole season with just 22 players on their roster and 15 of them being Freshman is fantastic and probably the only bright spot at that school district right now.

Let's flip the conversation - who did the least with most?

Purchase Line and Northern Cambria really underachieved this year. Obviously United is a wreck, but there has to be some talent there.
