Weird Team Names / Mascots?

My son and I follow western PA H.S. football and get a kick out of it when teams have interesting names. We often wonder why the schools chose them. Here are a few we find interesting:
St. Marys "Flying Dutchmen" 
Karns City "Gremlins" (do they mean the little furry things that multiply when they get wet?)
Williamsburg "Blue Pirates"
Any school named after the Devil!?

Charmichael mighty mikes is interesting but my favorite is Washington Prixies! Always laugh at that one

Well a Bearcat is from Southeast Asia. You should've gone with Man-Bear-Pig. He's half man, half bear, and half pig. "but Mr. Gore, that's three halves!" Yea, I know, he's pretty big.
