McCort is the best team that LV has faced this year. Should be a great discussion this week about this game.
I think that it comes down to the defensive backs from Mccort vs the Wr (Tutino and Daughtery) from LV, winner of that matchup wins game.

Should be a fantastic game. By far the biggest test LV has had all season. I'm taking the Crimson Crushers in this one. Something like 28-24.

Re: Bishop McCort vs. Ligonier: AA Championship Thread
I think McCort's corners are pretty good, and I think on long passes they'll be able to stay with the Ligonier receivers. Ligonier could have some success on underneath routes however.
Johnstown got some screens against McCort and that really hurt them, but Benton had a really good game defending deep routes against Exree Loe. Last night Bellwood had some success running trips formation and using some crossing and out routes to confuse McCort, and it worked.
So I think Ligonier could find some success on shorter routes rather than gearing up for long deep routes.
At least in my opinion.

McCort can be mistake prone sometimes with penalties, they can't do that on Friday. Ligonier will make them pay.

One question will be how does the staff and players from LV handle a team that is more of an equal than anyone they have played all year. They have never been pushed, never had to do one thing or another, except maybe CH to some degree.

I highly agree with timex13. Not taking anything from Ligioner Valley, at this point theres only good teams left and no flukes. I feel the Crushers will pull it off, they have played and hung in the game with big time teams this year such as Guilfoyle and Johnstown both who are still in the playoffs as well. And held off Bellwood as well. I just dont think Ligioner Valley has truly been battle tested for a team that plays all 4 quarters and has such a good pass defense at McCort. Im saying McCort 35-28 i just think their a little more preparedtimex13 wrote:Should be a fantastic game. By far the biggest test LV has had all season. I'm taking the Crimson Crushers in this one. The only team to have any amount of success against LV's defense was PL (the highest amount of points allowed all year at 12), and that was primarily because PL has a very shifty and athletic runner in Shamar Campbell. LV's defense shut everyone else down completely but had the most trouble defending that kind of runner. I haven't seen McCort - do they have any very shifty, quick ball carriers?

I would say that Carnell Andrews is that.

Andrews, Nash, and Britt are all athletic runners that can make big plays. Nash is a downfield runner with speed, Andrews is fast with some quickness, and Britt can probably juke 11 guys on a given play. He's small, but he's incredibly quick.
