Coaches physical

I have a question.  I was talking to a friend that is a defensive coordinator for a WPIAL team. He told me all coaches at his school must have a physical before stepping on the field. Is this a new PIAA rule?  WPIAL rule?  Local?

Sounds like a school district solicitor trying to cover the school district collective backsides and avoid a potential lawsuit if a coach has heat related injury.....attorneys run our world!
