Scroll to the end.  Westinghouse has repeatedly applied to the WPIAL to admit its football program.  The WPIAL won't admit them.

That's just a poor excuse. There's 122 total football programs in D7, but the 7 from D8 are by themselves. (surrounded by D7)

It's probably because it needs to be an all or nothing move to the WPIAL. Westinghouse is part of Pittsburgh Public School District. I think the whole Pittsbugh public should move over and give up with City League.

They could keep them as a conference and keep the same schedule. Just add them to the D7 playoffs...since the Championship game is in their home district.

That's one solution, but it doesn't help Westinghouse. The WPIAL sets conferences/schedules by class, and that's what they want...to play other AA schools.

Then their even number is crap. D7 AA has 23 Teams. Teams

An article from 2013 indicated that Westinghouse competes in the WPIAL in sports like baseball.  They have been repeatedly turned down in football and basketball.

It's not a big deal that Berlin or Ridge has to play them, but it's just absurd that Westinghouse is asked to do this when they could enter a much larger playoff.

Seems like the whole City League plays in WPIAL baseball, not just Westinghouse.

So is district 8 the only district with a smaller number of schools than D5?
