Carroll went to states in 2003, which was likely around the time McCourt was making this decision. Pretty sure knowitall is right on this one, which makes sense since he knows it all.

Why would FH play up? They will play by their classification just like everyone else in the district.
Maybe because they elect to play up in basketball? Don't gotta be ignorant about it. And if BG elects to play up in AA I surely wouldn't want to play them every year if I didn't have to

Yea, it's going to catch Bishop Carroll here soon in terms of shrinking enrollment.  I don't think the merging of the parochial schools in town went over well, it lost them some kids.

Westmont and Johnstown being up 30 boys each is somewhat telling, because not that many people are moving to Johnstown. They are just going to a different school.

Bingo - that merging of the parochial school feeders was a disaster.  The migration has just started.  I agree that McCort will be hurting in enrollment for years to come.

Several schools will be hurting soon enough. I believe CV has 17 boys in seventh grade this year.
