Mountain League - Week 7

Post by DragonsDoExist »

Last Week 4-1 (Overall 25-7)

Vincentian Academy (0-2) @ Philipsburg-Osceola (0-6)...VA appears to be one of those schools that's on the border when it comes to fielding a team. They did not have a team last year and this year they have played 2 games with a schedule of only 6. The Mounties always play hard and this week that pays off. Philipsburg-Osceola 35 Vincentian Academy 7

Central (2-4) @ Bishop Carroll (2-4)...The Huskies hung with Huntingdon last week and were tied at 14 with 4 minutes to play before falling 21-14. Meanwhile the Dragons ended a 4 game skid with a win over P-O. These 2 teams haven't met since 2006 during Central's brief stint in the LHAC. Look for the Dragon passing game to be the difference as Central tries to build some momentum before facing a good Bellefonte team next week. Central 35 Bishop Carroll 14

Bald Eagle Area (6-0) @ Huntingdon (2-4)...The Bearcats have had trouble scoring points this year (20 ppg) and that's not a good thing going up against Jaden Jones and a BEA offense that is scoring 45 ppg. Not only are the Bald Eagles clicking on offense but last week it was their defense that caught everyone's eye in pitching a 35-0 shutout vs Tyrone. BEA held Tyrone to 62 yards of total offense including -23 rushing. I don't see them having any trouble setting up a possible clash of undefeateds next week vs Clearfield. Bald Eagle Area 41 Huntingdon 13

Bellefonte (5-1) @ Penns Valley (3-3)...The Rams lost a heart breaker last week 30-29 in OT vs 4A Midd-West that would have been big in putting them in position to possibly host a 1st round playoff game. Now they get the task of bouncing back against a very good Bellefonte team that just suffered their 1st loss at the hands of undefeated Clearfield. While the Rams are very good offensively I think the 4A vs 2A will be noticeable as the Red Raiders dominate up front and on the defensive end. Bellefonte 49 Penns Valley 20

Game of the Week
Clearfield (6-0) @ Tyrone (4-2)...The Bison and QB Isaac Rumery, who just committed to PSU, took care of undefeated Bellefonte last week by a score of 49-21. Rumery went 10-13 for 253 yards and 6 TDs in the first half. Tyrone lost their 2nd game in a row after a 4-0 start and it doesn't get any easier with 5A Hollidaysburg on tap for next week. As long as they don't get caught looking ahead to the big match-up with BEA next week the athletes for Clearfield will be too much for Tyrone. Clearfield 42 Tyrone 21

Interesting, game of the week looks to be a blowout.   Who has the updates on Denver Light?
