Colonel Mustard wrote:Before we grant saint hood on coach TP, let"s remember how he got the job. His political connections forced-out Marabito. They created a phony job at the school for him, which if you read the newspaper article, they will eliminate after he leaves.  This is money that could have been going to the kids.  It's tough to coach there and he did a fair job, but lets not build that statue.
Last time I checked an AD is not a “phony job” since all districts have one. Tony went above and beyond a coach for the kids just because that’s how he is & because of this he’d never want a statue anyway  :ymapplause:

I think the job people were referring to was the college coordinator/liaison or whatever. Jtown eliminated that not A.D. And I'm all for creating good jobs to get good people but I forgot about the circumstances with another class act and great coach in Kevin.

As far as D1 athletes under TP goes I can think of Loe, Morris, and Jones. Reed was couple years before him I believe. Simon went to Army but not sure how long he played same with Alkwan Williams don't know where he ever ended up. I do know Morris didn't last long at Akron.

Dajour Morris - Akron
DaQuan Minter - Saint Francis (FCS)
Gervon Simon - Army
Brock Eisenhuth - Youngstown State (FCS)
Alkwan Williams - Temple
Kareem Gibson - Virginia (Now with Albany)
Exree Loe - West Virginia
Bryce Gibson - Youngstown State (FCS)
Shamar Jones - Indiana

I know there's a number of D2 players mixed in there. Austin Barber ended up at Lock Haven recently, and I believe a few kids ended up Slippery Rock and St. Francis through the years as well.

According to the Trib's boys' basketball capsules the other day, A. Williams is an assistant boys' basketball coach for the Trojans.

Marabito was a forced resignation by the powers that be at GJSD Suzy, don’t let your bias hide the reality.

He's still a teacher there, and hasn't stopped coaching since he left. That place is a mess.
