WesstPAC Week Five

Post by knowitall »

The WestPAC is divided in two.  There appears to be a major drop off between the fourth and fifth best teams in the conference.  The big questions are who is the best and who will finish fifth.  Will the WestPAC again be shut out in the crossover games with the Heritage Conference?

Here's my power rankings through Week Four:

1.  Berlin
2.  Portage
3.  Meyersdale
4.  Windber
5.  Shade
6.  Conemaugh Township
7.  Blacklick Valley
8.  North Star
9.  Ferndale
10. Conemaugh Valley

There is a battle for eighth place this Saturday as North Star travels to Ferndale.  I've seen both teams play this year and I'm giving a very slight edge to North Star.  Fifth place could be on the line as CT, whose schedule will begin to get a bit easier plays Blacklick Valley.  I'm going out on a limb and predicting that CT will finish 5-4 and claim the fifth spot in the conference this year.  Berlin should handle Windber who looks like it has fourth place locked down.  Meyersdale will stay undefeated as CV hopes to keep enough kids healthy to be able to take the field against BV a week later.  Portage will beat Shade.
