portage, ferndale, blacklick, conemaugh valley to D5
Re: portage, ferndale, blacklick, conemaugh valley to D5
But it has always been located in Westmoreland County, which is a part of District 7.
Re: portage, ferndale, blacklick, conemaugh valley to D5
So in other words you're telling me Laurel Valley had to petition District 7 to release them, then petition District 6 to accept them. Really the bottom line in this discussion, is a school district doesn't have to border a district to become a member of that district. We have seen that with Indiana, Johnstown, Altoona and Holidaysburg. There is no reason why Portage, Blacklick Valley and Conemaugh Valley couldn't move to District 5.knowitall wrote:But it has always been located in Westmoreland County, which is a part of District 7.

Portage wanted to dodge Bishop Guilfoyle. However, the last few playoffs it has been eliminated from the playoffs by United and Ferndale. So it may now prefer moving to District 8.

Portage has been trying to get out of d6 since the early 2000s when BC had some amazing teams.

Schools like Altoona and Hollidaysburg switches because of scheduling. Portages schedule wouldn’t change . Same reason their girls are 5-A, Portage wants to move because they want titles.End of story.

I thought in this day and age of political correctness and 'Everyone gets a trophy just for participation', titles mean nothing. The story continues.
It ain't over until it's over.

I don't blame any class "A" school for wanting to play in a district with their peers. Bishop Guilfoyle, Bishop Carroll, Bishop McCort or any other school that is not limited to a geographical area are not their peers.knowitall wrote:Portage wanted to dodge Bishop Guilfoyle. ...and we all know how well that the PIAA governs high school athletics. Lol Maybe someday they will get it right.youngbuck wrote:According the PIAA they are, and their opinion matters more than yourztubmill wrote:I don't blame any class "A" school for wanting to play in a district with their peers.
