Quick question,

Isn't there a new magical "formula" being used or was this just with basketball?

If you win a state championship you have to move up, had so many transfers, district titles, etc. All go into the "formula." Not sure of the "secret formula" or how it even works.

Clearfield dropping from AAAA to AAA. Going to be tough for anyone in D6 AAA to beat them come playoff time

First, Coach is correct, their was a glitch in the database and some schools with coops may not have been calculated correctly. Meyersdale IS "AA" in football next cycle.

Second, the competition formula will kick in next cycle. It is a combination of acquiring points via playoff advancement and having a minimum of 3 transfers over the last 2 year cycle. If both minimums are met then school is upgraded to the next classification. Example I'm aware of right now is Farrell. They acquired enough competition points and had (according to their PIAA eligibility list) 8 transfers so they will upgrade from Class A to AA for the next cycle.

Clearfield is District 9, which would put them in a subregional with District 5 and District 8 unless something changes. So Bedford, Somerset, and Westinghouse will get the task of dealing with Clearfield.
