54 passing TD’s in a single season,

of which how many were shovel passes in place of a normal run game.

I would guess over half

Whats the diff? It still goes in the books as a TD pass and 6 points.

I can’t say it matters a ton, but when I saw them play I was expecting to see a phenomenal passer or receivers. But they didn’t really run the ball in the traditional sense. They were in shotgun the whole night and their “run” game was 90% shovel passes to the wing.

It would be like having a hitter bunt 90% of time and having a .400 batting average and saying he’s the greatest hitter ever. Not that bunting for a .400 average wouldn’t be impressive, but it’s not the same thing as hitting.

I can see your point, but again, if thats what they do, and everyone knows thats what they do, it's up to the opponent to shut it down, and obviously they are proficient enough that it was very successful for them. Nobody is saying a .400 hitter that bunts 90% of the time is a Ty Cobb, but it's still pretty dang impressive. A couple years ago, FH had a kid that was a DH and led off the order because he could bunt very well, and ran like a deer, and was pretty successful getting on ahead of the better following hitters.
