Southern Columbia will remain in 2A for football. Can read article online dailyitem.com

Probably because all their transfers likely come as 9th graders. Meanwhile, 1A Aliquipa lost their first appeal

SCA remains undefeated in PIAA appeals.

Dumb question - I wonder what would happen if 30-40 other AA football schools voluntarily moved up to AAA to avoid SCA. Would the PIAA re-balance all of the classifications to ensure equal numbers as per the norm or would AA be "thin" for a cycle?

Quippa voluntarily plays up. So what if they would say hey we are playing our true classification now. They are a single A school so theoretically after success points they'd be AAA.
