District 5 and 6 Playoffs - Class A

Post by footballguy99 »

District 5 is fairly easy.
1. NBC
2. Windber
3. Conemaugh Township
4. Tussey Mountain or North Star
TM plays Southern Huntingdon. North Star plays West Shamokin. North Star's only path in is with a WIN and a Tussey Mountain loss.

District 6 has a lot of twists and turns
1. Penns Manor (#1 no matter what) vs. Berlin
2. Cambria Heights (likely to remain at 2 or 3 in some order with N Cambria). vs. NBC - lowest they can drop is 4, but that isn't likely.
3. Northern Cambria (Can move to 2 with a win and CH loss) vs Conemaugh Township (CT seems to be down a few guys)
4. Portage (travels to Windber)
5. Juniata Valley (plays Mt. Union)
6. Moshannon Valley (plays West Branch)
7. Homer Center (@ Meyersdale)
8. Purchase Line (@Bald Eagle)
9. Glendale (vs. Curwensville)

This playoff picture is a mess. I think 1-3 remain and 2-3 might flip spots. JV could sneak up to 4. CT appears to be really beat up right now, so I can't see NC losing to them at this point.

The highest Mo Valley can get is 5.
Glendale wins and I believe they make the playoff field.

How I see it:
Portage is a double digit underdog vs. Windber.
JV is a slight underdog vs. MU
Mo Valley vs. West Branch is probably about even, but MV is hot right now.
Homer Center is a slight favorite at Meyersdale.
Purchase Line is a double digit underdog vs. BEA.
Glendale is even with Curwensville.

The team with the most to gain is potentially Juniata Valley. A win combined with a few losses could move them up into a favorable spot and a home game. I would think they are more likely to win than Portage.

5-8 seems like a real toss up as to what could happen there.
