Blairsville gets a double header at Hollidaysburg, which is nice for them, but Hollidaysburg? Stinks that can't have a gym closer to them capable of hosting that game.
Re: AA Boys Playoff Open Thread.
Some tough match ups for the locals. The only local I see winning is Blairsville, and they may be in for a battle.
Western Finals - Aliquippa v. Lincoln Park
Eastern Finals - Trinity v. Conwell Egan
State Finals - Quips v. CE
Champion - Quips

Really, Blairsville is that good? I know little about basketball in Indiana County as I live in Dist X, but Neshannock is decent, record not so, having lost to Lincoln Park three times. Interesting thought. Really Interesting why game is so far from Blairsville.
Re: AA Boys Playoff Open Thread.
OK I will play not knowing anything about D6, but here goes:
Aliquippa just because everyone knows there loaded
West Branch, this is worst Mercyhurst team in twenty years, lucky to even make state playoffs, should have lost in 1st round of D10
Bellwood Antis wins, Redbank has six quality players, then little else to offer
GCC wins, isn't CR a wrestling powerhouse?
Neshannock wins, just because their section and schedule were pretty good

Blairsville is pretty athletic and skilled. Many of these kids have been starting since their sophomore year. Troy Williams is an athletic forward that has scored 1,000 points in his career. Rhadezz Henderson is a big dude in the middle, he's going to Slippery Rock to play DEnd at 6'4 230. And Cam Livingston is an experienced guard that averages around 13 or 14 points.
Neshanock and them will be a good game.

Central Cambria with a dang tough draw the Quips basically at a home game in Ambridge.
And I wouldn't be 100% shocked at all if Lincoln Park fights their way through their pod of the bracket and meets up with the Quips in the western final.

Re: AA Boys Playoff Open Thread.
some of these d-6 teams, I wonder how they would handle man to man pressure or even a half court man defense that is aggressive. they all seemed to play primarily zone in the playoffs. it makes me think they don't feel confident in playing man, or don't want to put the time in to do it. I think that would separate some of these teams in the state playoffs....

Blairsville is no joke they have a 1 point loss to Somerset, and a 3 point loss to Hollidaysburg. Only question for them is if they play under control or not. This team is nowhere close to the team that back-to-back west finals in 05 and 06.
