District Duals
I was just wondering if anyone has any dates set for the first round of district duals. I saw that January 31st is the date for Tyrone but I haven't heard anything about the prelim's yet?? I'm not even exactly sure what the cutoff date is this year for dual meets maybe that's why I haven't heard anything yet.

Re: District Duals
#1 Huntingdon (12-0) hosts #8 Juniata Valley (7-6)
#2 Mount Union (13-2) hosts #7 Penn Cambria (6-3)
#3 Forest Hills (14-1) hosts #6 Portage (9-4)
#4 Westmont Hilltop (9-1) hosts #5 Claysburg-Kimmel (14-3)
All Matches are to be held on either 1/27 or 1/28 @ 7:00 pm
Anyone have any thoughts? Any upsets?
I think Penn Cambria might shock some teams.

FH big
Westmont bigger
FH/Westy in finals, pretty much same as before, a little closer but same results.

Re: District Duals
Predictions:
#1 Huntingdon (12-0) hosts #8 Juniata Valley (7-6)
The Bearcats run away with this one and advance to the semis: Huntingdon wins: 45-18
#2 Mount Union (13-2) hosts #7 Penn Cambria (6-3)
This will be a closer match than most think and Penn Cambria has the best chance to pull an upset, but i think the Trojans have a more solid line up and will win this match: Mount Union wins: 36-27
#3 Forest Hills (14-1) hosts #6 Portage (9-4)
Congratulations to Portage for making it to districts, but because of the way our seeding system works(It really needs to be changed), this is the farthest the Mustangs will do in the district duals. FH wins: 44-21
#4 Westmont Hilltop (9-1) hosts #5 Claysburg-Kimmel (14-3)
These two teams were also hurt by the seeding system for D6, especially C-K, to show the flaws in the system, #4 Westmont beat #3 Forest Hills 42-21 and they are the lower seed, and #5 Claysburg beat #2 Mount Union 32-30 and C-K is three seeds lower. This really hurts Claysburg because i thought they had a very good chance to make some noise, but Westy walks away with it: 52-6
So if my predictions come true it will be:
Semis:
#1 Huntingdon Vs. #4 Westmont Hilltop and #2 Mount Union Vs. #3 Forest Hills
Finals:
#4 Westmont Hilltop Vs. #3 Forest Hills
I would like to wish good luck to all of the compeating teams and hope there is some great wrestling coming up soon!

Re: District Duals
Westmont over Claysburg 52-6  . That's a major beat down over a decent team.
Re: District Duals
I realize my prediction seems like a "beatdown", but i believe it is justified, assuming C-K and WH don't make any drastic changes.
103 Polacek (19-5) (WH) dec over Dodson (19-1) (CK) 3-0
112 Hough (19-6) (WH) maj dec over Dively (14-3) (CK) 7-0
119 Dodson (11-9) (CK) dec over Helsel (8-3) (WH) 7-3
125 Patton (9-8) (WH) dec over Claycomb (13-7) (CK) 10-3
130 Kushner (23-2) (WH) dec over Claar (17-5) (CK) 13-3
135 Bruce (15-5) (WH) dec over Aungst (20-2) (CK) 16-3
140 Goodwin (9-6) (WH) dec over Keller (1-5) (CK) 19-3
145 Knott (16-3) (CK) dec over Dumire (17-6) (WH) 19-6
152 Keklak (19-4) (WH) fall over Claar (11-10) (CK) 25-6
160 Johns (6-6) (WH) fall over Lehman (3-12) (CK) 31-6
171 Duplin (10-8) (WH) fall over Campion (7-12) (CK) 37-6
189 Burnheimer (18-5) (WH) dec over Parry (15-4) (CK) 40-6
215 Bennett (21-0) (WH) fall over Lackey (15-5) (CK) 46-6
Hwt Duplin (17-4) (WH) fall over Sell (3-5) (CK) 52-6
The problem that CK has is that all of the studs in their line-up land on Westmont's studs who i believe will beat them, if you need criteria on why i made an assumption, go ahead and message me, i will be more than happy to help you.

Re: District Duals
Papa, I was glad to see you explained your post. You even gave records and predictions on matchups. That's what I like to see brought to this board. I wasn't saying it couldn't happen. I was shocked by the score until I saw your explanation. No need for PMs. I know that Coach Marko is a very good coach and I'll be shocked if his team gets a 52-6 beating. He'll find a way for it at least be to competitive for awhile. I agree Westmont wins, but I'll be shocked again if it is by 46. You gave a very compelling case for it to be that way, though.

Don't be so quick to kick Huntingdon to the curb.

Re: District Duals
I am sure there will be some shuffling of some kids in CK's lineup. I would not be surprised to see Angst move up to 140 from 135 and Claar move up from 152 to 160.
I still think Huntingdon is a real nice team, and with some lineup shuffles could give WH some trouble. WH's middle weights will need to wrestle smart and have very good "Mat Presents" during their matches. Knowing how much time is on the clock, where they are at on the mat and exactly what the score is at all times. I think if everyone keeps their focus, knows their roll on the team and does their job, WH will be raising another D6 title.
