I think we all as local sports fans should be glad that the only private school sports program in our area that recruits players is McCort Wrestling.

Also it should make you sleep better tonight knowing that the PIAA and District 6 are cracking down on a second offense in less than 10 years with a severe penalty like probation.

It’s all just a conspiracy to bring down the private school that no one in the area likes.

Bishop McCort’s wrestling team has been placed on probation for three years. No BM wrestler is eligible for to compete in the postseason during that time. The head coach has been suspended for a year. All other athletic teams at the school have also been placed on probation.

And Tom Smith's defense was, " Our wrestling families (which amounted to 3 varsity wrestlers last year), are very upset. They feel their rights have been trampled on. They transferred here during the Covid because we offered an excellent educational piece. We got 88 transfers this year (about 10 of which were wrestlers) due to BM's pandemic response." Amazing isn't it. Ten kids who wrestled in the area thought BM was a safer place for them to attend school. Anyone buying that?

They need to put their hockey team on probation too! Bringing in Tier 1 Russians to win a Laurel Mountain title is like the Penguins playing the Tomahawks. Westmont won't back down, but all others cannot compete and lose by 10 every night. There is a lot of pride in those victories, I am sure!
