Electoral college

Post by Bitoffun »

In the presidential race, Pennsylvania is currently a winner take all state, meaning the winner of the popular vote statewide wins all the electoral votes. It does not have to be that way. Pennsylvania can award the electoral votes however it wants. We get one electoral vote for each local congressional district. What if we changed the electoral votes to align with the way each district's popular vote ended? That way the cities did not decide for the entire state! Could we convince our legislature to go along with an idea like that? I believe some other states already use this kind of a system. I, for one, would appreciate not having Pitt, Philly and a hole in the northeast carry PA every election!
