Curve Classic 2023

Potential for some good baseball and some great weather, at least Thursday and Friday, for the Curve Classic this weekend. Thursday @ 12:30 Hollidaysburg takes on Punxsy who may be the favorite to win states at 3A. At 3pm Altoona plays Latrobe. On Friday morning 10:00 arguably the top 2 teams in the LHAC square off as Forest Hills takes on Central. If both teams take care of regular season games Thursday they will both enter undefeated. At 12:30 a solid BG team takes on Tyrone. Semifinal games are scheduled for 10:00 and 12:30 Saturday with the championship at 3pm. Rain in the forecast for Saturday may create some shuffling there.

The rain will be late afternoon Sat. Should be able to get all the games in. FH has their hands full tomorrow with Richland in Sidman. Probably be a Roberts vs Wechtenhiser matchup. At least for a few innings. Good luck to all teams.

Updated schedule due to expected Saturday rain…

Fridays 10:00 and 12:30 winners will play a semifinal game at 5:30.

Saturday will be championship game only at 10:00.

Impressive win by Hburg over Punxsy. Hollidaysburg will take on Altoona tonight in the first semifinal game.

The Bonsell kid from Tyrone was impressive coming off his injury/ rehab, and dealing for 56 pitches. FH just didn't have the arm depth. One or 2 kids who might have been able to throw were participating in a JV tournament that day. Hey you dance with the gal you brought to the dance, right?
