FM should be strong after only losing 2 seniors, and bringing in a strong Freshman class. Strong pitching and solid defense will carry them, and the bats will eventually follow.

You never know. A lot depends on who can get the bats going the fastest.

Unlike the past few years in the SHL, there's no clear cut favorite to win the league this year. Several teams have many returning letterwinners but it will come down to who has the best pitching depth. If I had to pick an early favorite, C.Ridge looks like the team to beat. In D-5A, Meyersdale will once again carry the top seed in the district tournament.

Northern is coming off a strong year and are very overlooked...Bowser and Snowberger will add power and Love is returning on the hill and if he picks up where he left off last season he will be very tough to beat...Look for the Panthers to make a run in the post season to defend their title

mount union will in the big team yet again. although theyre moving up to aa they will still be successful. as for d5, its by far the most weak league in the state. bring meyersdale into d6, they probably wouldnt even make it out of the first round.

Last year the 5th seed in District 5 went to the elite 8 in the state and lost by 1 run to the team the won the state championship and run-ruled every other team on their way. This team was Bedford and like I said they were the last place team in District 5 going into the playoffs. Everett would have beat the team Bedford lost to and may have even won a state championship. The single-A D-5 representative went to the elite 8 also in NBC. They are bringing most of their key players back again this so don't be surprised if they don't make a run deep into the state playoffs again this year. If you don't know what your are talking about shut your mouth because D-5 baseball is doing just fine and if you don't think so schedule a NBC, Everett, Meyersdale,Bedford, or Ridge and we will show how fine we really are.

Mu King,
Mount Union is a fine baseball program and no one should dispute that, but don't come on here running your mouth about other programs. Your comments about District 5 and Meyersdale are absurd. First of all WestPAC Champ Meyersdale (District V) 10 run ruled LHAC Champ Richland (D-6) in 5 innings last May. Meyersdale also 10-runned D-6 Runner up Portage in 5 innings in the WestPAC Championship. In the state playoffs, D-5 Champ Northern Bedford beat D-6 runner up Portage handily. NBC beat Meyersdale in a good D5 Championship Game. I'm not here to say who is better this year between D5 powers (NBC, CT, Mdale, etc.) and D-6 powers (Mount Union, Portage, Homer City, etc.). I'm just saying don't say stupid things you can't back up.
