Pirates looking to trade McCutchen
Huge rumors coming out tonight that the pirates are most likely going to trade their all star centerfielder.
Here we go again in pittsburgh, have a lossing season time to dump everything and live with a bad baseball team again.

I told you so last year. It is inevitable. He is still very good, but IMHO, just past his peak as an athlete. THAT is when, as a GM, you look to get the most bang for the buck from (some) players.
It ain't over until it's over.

his unwillingness to move to RF may be causing the front office to want to move him also.

I haven't heard many potential destinations. Where's he going according to the rumor mill? Or where does everyone think he'll land?

I've read Washington, Texas and Oakland as "interested". As long as it's not the NLC I don't really care, as long as we get back some quality guys.

I like the move to trade him. I think its a little early in the year but I believe its going to happen this year. With Austin Medows ready to take over at CF the time is right to move on and get some other pieces to build a better team. They have some good young talent and few vets that should make a solid team. Maybe trade McCutchen for another good arm or for a infielder and a guy to bolster the pen.
Re: Pirates looking to trade McCutchen
The Pirates run was nice while it lasted. Cutch will be given away. Watson and Harrison are on the market. Gerrit Cole's days are numbered. The Cubs are too good. Competing costs too much money. The new Collective Bargaining Agreement won't help the Pirates. RIP.

Organizations like the Pirates can't be sentimental. If he has trade value now. Get something for him.
Re: Pirates looking to trade McCutchen
History has shown they won't get much.
He very likely has more value playing for two more years at his below market value salary than what they will get for him.

Lets be honest. Theyll probably not get anything but a couple prospects.
