Re: Pitt Stripe Out
So you think it was wise for Franklin to call time out before the field goal attempt so his regular players could PRACTICE for a future game situation down the road? Gee, maybe Franklin should have gone for 2 after his last TD. You know, just for practice in a future game situation.

Re: Pitt Stripe Out
How are they ranked 4th with the schedule they've played so far? Michigan beat Florida and kicked PSU's blue and white butts last year, and they're lower??? These polls still suck. And so do unwritten rules. If you don't want GSU kicking a field goal, then keep them out of FG range.

Re: Pitt Stripe Out
Well let's see, Michigan lost 18-22 starters while PSU got 19-22 starters back. Last years lose means absolutely nothing in this years rankings....yes Michigan beat Florida but how many players were suspended for them again? Polls just suck caz your team isn't in them....
Re: Pitt Stripe Out
This may help. Sagarin's top 10 and their strength of schedules. 1) Alabama SOS 39, 2) Oklahoma SOS 96, 3) Clemson 12, 4) Ohio State SOS 11, 5) Oklahoma St SOS 48, 6) Wisconsin SOS 100, 7) PSU SOS 148, 8) Washington SOS 152, 9) Florida State SOS 1, 10) USC SOS 19. Notice the SOS for Wisconsin and PSU. How can you lose when you play teams like this at home? By the way, Pitt's SOS is 3rd in the nation.

September polls are meaningless.

Re: Pitt Stripe Out
Good for Pitt. Maybe that will impress the folks at the Pinstripe Bowl. Could care less about SOS or Mr. Sagarin. If PSU takes care of business on the field they will be in the playoff. If they don't then they will likely miss out. If they don't do a better job getting off the field on 3rd down I'd say the latter.El-Moldo wrote:This may help. Re: Pitt Stripe Out
PSU sos is 148 and he still has them ranked 7th....hmmm sos must not mean that much then...
Re: Pitt Stripe Out
It doesn't mean that much to the coaches or the AP press who VOTE in the polls. You see, these guys vote with their heart, not their brain. And it's a shame that these guys are the ones who will pick the top 4 for the National Championship. I mean, how can you put PSU at 4th with an SOS of 148, ahead of USC who has an SOS of 19. Coaches and sportswriters have their favorite teams and conferences. All they care about is the win/loss records of teams.
