Yes.  He can redshirt his sophomore year.  He can also tear a knee ligament and be out of football with three years of eligibility remaining.
He’s now the backup QB, one step away from being the starter.  There’s still six or possibly seven games left this season.

SOOOOO, upnorth, YOU ARE WRONG. Morelli LOST his redshirt because ONE Hail Mary with 3 seconds left in the SIXTH game of his freshman year. Now WHAT were you saying about facts?
Please don't reference "facts" when presenting untruths.
Morelli had played in week 1, was thus not eligible for a nonparticipation redshirt.

Ask adpk. Appearing in one of the first games as a true freshman in 2004 did NOT cause him to lose his redshirt year. That's why the Nit fans were pi$$ed at JoePa after the Purdue loss. Playing in game 6 cost him a year.

Who remembers PSU's overtime victory last year against Minnesota. It spurred them on to their victory over Ohio State, and bigger and better things as the season wore on. Well, watch out Nits. The Wolverines just played one heck of an overtime game beating Indiana on the road. Well they're psyched, and they're coming for you. Let's see what happens.

Yes there's a lot of pressure playing a lower ranked team as a top ten team.....you wouldn't understand

- Michigan beat Indiana in, "one heck of an OT game."
- Penn State squeaked by Indiana, by 31.

Michigan is psyched, and coming.
They won't have to look around for PSU. They'll be waiting with a figurative 2x4 in their hand.

Michigan has a loss. Can't afford another. They have been wounded. And the wounded animal is the most dangerous one in the forest.

You're right, Michigan has all the pressure and I expect their best game of the season. Their QB is from a hop across the mountain (Huntingdon) and was supposed to come to PSU until they took Hackenburg. They very well could beat Penn State.
As silly as it sounds, next weeks game is not too important for Penn State. Their season rests on the results the following week in Columbus and in 2 weeks in East Lansing.

Moldo----are you the troll with the green hair...moldy green hair? You are an A #1 troll with a capital T. Get a life. PSU is really good this year. They may be very average next year or multiple years following, but this year they are very good. Pitt is very average this year. Get over it. The world has much more important things to offer......
