My guess for what it will be

Last year ohio state made the playoffs despite not winning their conference or divison. They jumped over penn state who won the big 10 with 2 losses.

Now they won the big 10 with 2 losses but may miss the playoffs to a team who didnt even play in their conference championship game

If they are to pick the 4 best teams I personally don't see any argument:  Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama
If they opt to go conference champions only then the argument is Ohio St. and USC and I'm not even sure Ohio St. wins that argument.
