Domestic abuse allegations about an assistant coming out, that was a cover up. How long before he is removed as ohio states head coach?

Based on what happened at that school in central PA, I am surprised coach Meyer hasn't been fired yet.

I'd say bias AGAINST a former employee, and that's Brett McMurphy who broke the story. Maybe they aren't willing to give him credit yet.

Ohio State (tattoos), Michigan State (child molestation/sexual assault), Penn State (child molestation), Baylor (child molestation), and now Ohio State (sexual assault). When will these schools and leaders learn that it isn’t the bad apple you have in the bunch, it’s the covering up of those actions that get you in trouble.

If Ohio State doesn’t fire him (which I think they won’t), they better hope they are air tight and nobody in the athletic administration knew.

Times certainly have changed. You got to feel sorry for the generations coming after ours. Thirty years ago, if Urban Meyer's wife would have asked Courtney Smith about her marriage, she probably would have been told to "mind your own business', "butt out", or "keep your nose out of it". Nowadays, someone's problems are EVERYONES. Are we responsible for what someone else does, or what happens to them? And I'm not talking about minors who are being abused and can't fend for themselves. I'm talking about grown-ups who are looking for sympathy. Are we at the point where if we know someone is taking drugs, cheating on their spouse, or gambling away their family's fortune we should blow the whistle on them? Are we our brother's keeper?

Well actually Moldo, yes, we should be our brothers keeper. When it comes to a domestic incident Meyer, and his wife, as employees of OSU are mandated reporters when they learn of this and had a responsibility to get involved. This isn't one person destroying themselves by gambling or using drugs as in your examples. Domestic incidents are a completely different animal and as having been involved in working with domestic incidents in the past I can tell you that people do need help in these matters. The victim goes through a lot and wrestle with shame, feelings of their relationship with the abuser, holding the family together.....I could go on and on. I can imagine that in the world of college athletics where programs attempt to cover their warts that there is even more pressure put on a victim to "give another chance" or make this go away. Unless you have been in their shoes I wouldn't question what a victim did or didn't do, and who gets involved.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, the cover ups are the issue. These folks need to do the right thing from the get go and not cover these issues up. In this day and age there is just too much information out there and things don't go away. Urban Meyer got a fresh start at OSU, apparently he didn't learn. I don't see this ending well for him but that's just my opinion. As in all these issues its not the fault of the victim.

Are you responsible for what your fellow garbagemen do on there own time, no. If you are the highest paid employee in the state, head of one of the most popular franchises in the country, responsible for 100+ young men, and responsible to a university full on young impressionable men and women, yes. If you send your cronies to talk a woman out of pressing charges, you're a monster.
