Buc Fever

Post by 12HankQB »

I'm pleasantly surprised with this group. Best start in my lifetime so hard not to be excited. I really feel the difference between this and all the other crap teams we've had that went on runs is this team has spread it out statistically. They're getting strikeouts, less hit by pitches, less homeruns, quality starts, saves. Front to back the pitching has been more surprising than the hitting.

Stolen bases, extra base hits, walks, less striking out. They're doing the little things in every aspect. I wish errors could improve, but you cant be too disappointed in this start...

I know Manny's ready to bring out his old Al Martin jersey. What say you?

Great start for the Bucs. We may have underestimated how bad some of these other teams are.

I kind of went in thinking they wouldn't be as bad as last year or half decent, never imagined this kind of start especially with Cruz being injured like that so early in the season. It has fun to see McCutchen and Santana playing their butts off with a bunch of young guys around them. I'm definitely encouraged to see Hayes come around a bit and the pitching has been unbelievable. It seems Keller finally turned a corner.

Reynolds is hitting .231 over his last seven games and the Pirates are still finding ways to win. When he heats back up, they'll be tough.

I still don't really have any sort of expectations for this team, they could fall off at any time. I really don't know if this is sustainable yet, but if they're still playing good baseball into Memorial Day then I'd say it's definitely not just a fluke.

Kicking some tail. Great to see his success at that level.

The pitching is doing great. I know they haven't played a lot of upper level of talent, except maybe Boston, Houston, and St. Louis, but big league hitters are still pros. We'll see. It is FUN watching them every night!! GO BUCS!!

The Pirates are 6-0 on Tuesdays and Thursdays but only 4-4 on weekends.
