Charlie Weis signs 10 year deal.
A friend of mine called me from school and told me of this move today. What I am saying in this post is largely his thoughts, and I agreed with him.
Isn't this kind of a strange move? I mean, it's hard to argue that ND is not playing inspired ball and are obviously better than last season. But a 10 year deal? Let's think about this for a second. Charlie Weis right now has 2 losses already, one to a Michigan State team who has completely fallen apart. Both of those losses are AT HOME. It does not matter how well ND did against USC, because they lost the game. They LOST. They did not tie, and sure as hell did not win. If we remember correctly, Tyrone Willingham had a great 1st season at Notre Dame. Everyone thought HE was going to turn it all around too. Remember, we're talking about the first year. Isn't it maybe a little early to extend a 10 year deal to a guy who already has 2 home losses? Notre Dame lost to the 2 best teams they played. When they played MSU, MSU was unstoppable. They beat Notre Dame. Now, I am one of the last people on here that you will see crying racism, and I'm not saying it is, but is it possible that IT IS? There's no way they would have given Willingham a ten year deal. It just seems a little early for this. Just something to think about.

That's hard to believe. Not the story, but that you have a friend.
