Who would Win?
Bedford is taking a lot of heat on this board for not being good this year. Mostly because of their two early season losses. But the Bisons have reeled off 7 straight with ease which landed them in the playoffs.
Last year Bedfords team rolled through the regular season only to dump their first playoff game.
It seems to be that although the Bisons may have been more explosive with Troy Harris at QB, they are more Balanced this year with Ford at the helm.
So the question is, line last years team up vs. this years team.
Who wins? Or who is better?
Personally, when it comes to playoffs, I think nothing is more important than to have a balanced attack. Any well coached team with a decent amount of talent can shut down a Run or Pass only team.
Which is why I'd say that the 05 Bisons get the nod over the 04 Bisons.

And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!
04 over the team of 05.
Bedford couldn't pass cover last year. And Ford is very effecient in throwing the football. He finds the open man, and often times gets it to one of his two fast backs out of the backfield.
This years team might have trouble containing Mike Young on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. He was one hell of a player and as tough a runner as Bedford has ever seen.
Ford would score several times through the air on the D from last year, but that would be it. Troy Harris is a game breaker. And that's what he does best. He would turn the game around on his running ability and totally take over.
Bedford 04- 35
Bedford 05- 28

Re: Who would Win?
In this hypothetical battle, players could potentially be tackling themselves! If Kyler Ford, playing receiver for 04, catches a pass does Kyler Ford 05 tackle himself or does he want Ford 04 to have some glory? Also, does Ford kick better for 04 or 05-- that could be a deciding factor.
Seriously, I think Troy Harris would be the deciding factor like Ham said and lead the 05 team over the 04 team. Bedford might not have been as balanced last year, but still, no one could stop Troy Harris. Even when focusing on Harris, opponents had to deal with Marshall, younger Harris, and Young in the backfield. Lest we forget that that foursome, with the help of some others, totaled over 2,600 yards on the ground-- some 600 more than this years squad. Their passing attack wasn't terrible, either, as Harris passed for nearly 800, only about 150 yards less than K. Ford has mustered. Last years team had a strong rushing attack, a passing game that could get the job done when needed (i.e. Ford's final second drive vs. Westmont-- that's still last year's team, even though it's this year's QB), and, the deciding factor, Troy Harris' big play capability. He had the chance to score, or break a big run, every time he touched the ball, which was every play.

Re: Who would Win?
I think the 04 team would beat the 05 team largely because there are so many "shared" players. And if all the "shared" players nullify each other it comes down to Troy Harris and Mike Young being the deciding factor.
That said, I think the 05 team is the better team when it comes to playing "other" competition because they are more balanced.

It's an interesting argument. Troy could suddenly take over a game like no player from Bedford ever has. And Young was a Punisher with a capital P. Still, this year's team team shows a mental toughness that is pretty amazing. Obviously some very effective coaching decisions were made to help get the team back on track -- but the players have to execute. My only concern about this year's gang is that they've been TOO dominating over the last seven games. Gee, what an awful problem.
05 -- 31 04 -- 28 on a Ford fg in overtime.

I watched him, taught him and, coached him. Benbow was awfully good and awfully fast, but I'll take Troy for durability, balance, the ability to play hurt, and the mental toughness he showed his senior year. That's my opinion, though it'd be a real nice problem having to decide which one to start, wouldn't it?.
