HARMONY, Pa. (AP) — Connor Dixon ran for two touchdowns, threw for another, and intercepted a pass to lead South Park to a 28-2 victory over Reynolds in the PIAA Class (AA) semifinals Saturday at Seneca Valley High School.
The victory earns South Park (15-0) its second trip to the state championship game, and its first since 1997. The Eagles will face Wilson Area (12-2) in the title game Saturday at Hersheypark Stadium at 2 p.m. Wilson Area won 33-32 over Montoursville.
South Park drove 53 yards on four plays for a touchdown on its first possession. All 53 yards came on three runs by Tyler Scruggs, with the final 43 coming on the touchdown run. It was his 33rd touchdown of the season and the 51st of his career.
South Park dominated the second quarter, but Scruggs fumbled twice inside the Reynolds 20.
Reynolds (11-3) scored its only points at the end of the first half on a safety, when a South Park punt attempt was snapped out of the end zone.
South Park increased its lead to 14-2 on the opening possession of the second quarter, as Dixon capped the drive with a 40-yard touchdown run on an option play. Dixon scored again on a 1-yard sneak with 10:02 left in the fourth quarter, capping an 11-play, 59-yard drive.
Dixon, who completed 3 of 8 passes for 142 yards, capped the victory with an 85-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Detwiler midway through the fourth quarter. Scruggs rushed for 184 yards, as the Eagles accumulated 424 yards in total offense.
Reynolds had 84 yards in offense and tailback Jake McBride was held to 14 yards on 18 carries. McBride entered the game with 1,936 yards.

McKeesport 14, Bishop McDevitt 13

ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) — Dan Kopolovich ran for one touchdown and threw for another to lead McKeesport to a 14-13 win over Bishop McDevitt in the PIAA Class AAAA semifinals on Saturday at Altoona's Mansion Park.
The victory earns McKeesport its second trip to the state championship game, and its first since 1994. The Tigers will face Bethlehem Liberty (13-1) in the title game Saturday at Hersheypark Stadium at 7 p.m. Bethlehem Liberty won 14-12 over North Penn.
McKeesport scored on the second play of its first possession as Kopolovich scampered 75 yards for a touchdown on an option play. The Tigers drove to Bishop McDevitt's 29 on their next possession, but failed to convert on fourth down.
On the next play, Bishop McDevitt (13-1) scored on a 71-yard pass play from Jeremy Ricker to Aaron Barry. The Crusaders scored again on their next possession when Ricker and Berry connected on a 31-yard scoring pass in the second quarter.
Bishop McDevitt kicker Mike Comasko connected on the first extra point, but his second attempt was wide to the right.
Kopolovich, who rushed for 158 yards on 30 carries, accounted for McKeesport's other touchdown on a 23-yard scoring pass to Travis McBride. Tyler Dillinger provided the deciding point.
Bishop McDevitt drove into McKeesport territory on its final possession, but McBride intercepted a pass by Ricker and returned it 13 yards, and the Tigers ran out the clock.
McKeesport had 369 yards in total offense, including 331 yards on 63 rushing attempts.
Bishop McDevitt had 174 yards in total offense, and were held to 23 yards on 13 rushing attempts. Ricker completed 12 of 26 passes for 181 yards. Berry had seven catches for 151 yards.
