Well guys it was fun while it lasted...we got ketchup but no chocolate...
After being out thier friday this is what I think fellas.......................
SCA will not wow you with skill players...Yes Hynoski is the real deal..The kid was like the bus, hard to catch from behind and had quick feet...the most impressive thing was thier Oline...Marks would start for Pitt...thisyear as a HS junior....Sadly I am not really joking...the rest of the line was just strong...you can tell they are weightroom kids...The Dukes have some big strong lineman, but they are kids that I don't think are weightroom kids, just naturally strong, good genes...SCA have genes and lift year round, you could tell the difference  ...The steelers of the seventies were not the biggest line but as we know from Steve Courson (RIP) from Webbie to his right and left they were weightroom nuts when most teams of that era lineman relied on natural strenght and did not have much off season devotion to football....Until someone on our side of the state...and the East can get thier kids to focus in on one sport and have raw bigmen like SCA it will be hard to stop them...Again they do not have Great skill players they have adequate ones...I feel coach did a great job all year but I think he just believed the dukes oculd man up and read and react....I think the score could have been alot closer! if the dukes played like a 4-4 and shot the gaps every play, keep fields as safety man up on the reciever and use the other safety as a QB spy....it would of disrupted SCA at times...take your chances with them breaking a big play instead of being pounded for 4-5 yards a clip...The second and equally important key to SCA success is the numbers they get to play for them....they, with the exception of about 2-3 players have a seperate offense and defense...you have what was 11 vs. 22...that is amazing for Single A ball...it makes such a difference late in games...they are no more "conditioned" than the Dukes but fresher throughout the game...Hynoski only plays offense....While most A programs in the state that are good seperate themselves with what skill they are blessed with SCA has created a Triple-Quad A style program similar to North hills, USC types that are not overwhelming with skill play but have Wieghtroom kids that know thier assignments and make it work....some A programs have the material to beat these guys but it is looking like someone has to duplicate thier approach to beat them...they are facing teams with much more athleticism but are proving they don't need the same athleticism to win....
