DISTRICT #3 GIRLS' RANKINGS
Friday, December 23, 2005
The Patriot-News:
CLASS (AAAA)
1. Harrisburg 7-0
2. Central Dauphin 7-1
3. Wilson 6-0
4. Red Lion 5-2
5. Cocalico 7-0
CLASS (AAA)
1. Lancaster Catholic 8-0
2. Palmyra 7-0
3. Boiling Springs 5-1
4. Hershey 8-0
5. York Suburban 6-2
CLASS (AA)
1. Trinity 8-0
2. York Catholic 9-0
3. Brandywine Heights 8-2
4. Delone Catholic 4-3
5. Fairfield 5-2
CLASS (A)
1. Reading Central Catholic Lebanon Catholic 2-3
2. Camp Hill 4-4
3. Lititz Christian 7-1
4. Living Word 4-3
5. Scotland 1-3
NOTES: Jolly St. Nick is offering only minor changes to our second edition of the girls district rankings, and only two programs found exit passes in their Christmas stockings. The loss of not-at-full strength Bishop McDevitt in (AAA) and Tri-Valley League A rep Greenwood, which has lost three straight, made room for York Suburban and Living Word on Santa's nice list.
The Trojans, despite a slim setback to (AA)-power York Catholic, enter the (AAA) neighborhood at No. #5, while unbeaten Hershey continues to climb. Both will likely chanse unbeatens Lancaster Catholic and Palmyra the rest of the way.
Trinity and the Fighting Irish still own spots #1 and #2 in (AA), and only seasonal joy prevented tough Brandywine Heights to keep the No. #3 spot after a loss to Canadian outfit in Florida. Living Word earned its A nod via four straight W's.
Santa's final stop is McCaskey, a cohesive until that soon will be impossible to overlook. Yes, the Tornado was "lurking" last week, and has won four straight.
However, the five ranked challengers are nothing if not defiant. Keep an eye on the Hershey Tournament - Cocalico, Elizabethtown (7-0) and Spring Grove has entered - and top-gun Harrisburg meets the No. 2 Rams Jan. 6.
