Quad North to Battle Erie Teams This Fall
2/3/2006 -
For the five teams in the W.P.I.A.L.'s Quad North Conference, the upcoming "2006" football season will have a bit of a District #10 flavor to it. D-#10 officials have officially approved eight games for three Erie teams against District #7 Quand North teams North Allegheny, North Hills, Shaler, Butler and Seneca Valley.
The Erie McDowell Trojans will play one game against all five Quad North teams, while Erie Cathedral Prep will be scheduled for two games and Erie Strong Vincent will play one game.
The move is a compromise of sorts for Erie McDowell and for the W.P.I.A.L.
In January after approval by the W.P.I.A.L., Erie McDowell made a presentation that had the Trojans becoming an associate member of District #7 (for football only). That was unanimously
turned down by the District #10 committee, and subsequently turned down by the P.I.A.A. board of appeals.
