Mitchell2008 - I think someone already answered before that compare ages not grades!! Donaldson is older for his grade and that is a advantage......Read about the statement to compare them on an equal age not grades!! Some kids were held back just to have an advantage in sports!!! What grade someone is in can sometimes be very misleading as in the case of Donaldson...He should definitely be a junior maybe senior....Stop comparing them...they are both good runners and leave it at that...Everyone has their good points.

I'm sorry but I've kept my mouth shut about this 17 year old 10th grader from TM way too long. Do you honestly believe that this kid is in 10th grade simply because he was held back to be a "better" athelete? I know I mention stereotypes alot but think about it....what do you automatically assume when you hear about a 17 year old 10th grader from Tussey Mt? I'll leave that question open for you to answer.

Now, for my reply. Knowing the student (Jordan Donaldson) personally, I can state for a fact that he started school late and that he is academically excellent. So...any conclusions that Gunner is jumping to could not be further from the actual truth...again. Jordan is not only an excellent athlete, but an excellent student, and a very humble individual. I do not know Mr. Podlesnik personally and cannot speak for him. You belittle both of these individuals accomplishments with this silly argument. From what I can conclude both Jordan and Mike tried their very best and Mike beat Jordan out in the 1600. I know that Jordan felt it was a battle well won. He enjoyed the competition. Leave it at that and we will see what happens next year.

parent,

Please note that not once did i specifically say anything about his academics. I just pointed out the stereotype that he fit perfectly into. The guy could be valedictorian for all I care, but all the variables for an obvious stereotype are right there.

Podlesnik didn't just run one event last year at states. He anchored his 4x8 team as well.
