So are you telling me that William Jefferson is getting a pass because the black caucus is defending him? Pelosi sent him a note telling him he should resign his position on the Ways and Means committee. Does that sound like a pass? Is the media giving him a free pass? Do a simple google search for William Jefferson and you will find stories about him on the mainstream media sites (ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC, Washington Post). As a matter of fact here is one from that liberal outlet you call CBS:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/06/06/opinion/main1685807.shtml

Even though it has a liberal source, they're asking Jefferson to step down. Does that sound like a free pass?

Coulter's comments were way out of line. Or do you think there was nothing wrong with accusing the women of enjoying their husband's deaths?. In addition she called them "witches" and also said "how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies?" She says all these things in a book where she calls the liberals "godless". Keith Olberman had a great quote on Ms. Coulter. "Honestly, if you were Ann Coulter's attorney at a sanity hearing where could you possibly start?"

The libs are letting Jefferson hang in the wind, the party doesn't need him anymore.

Finished her book over w/e and she is very poignant!
If you read it I don't know how you would disagree with her logic!

Libs delight in attempts to use "attackproof" speakers/representatives such as mothers of fallen soldiers (family members of abuse victims etc)! Now I am one who will stand up for all our servicemen and certainly honor any lost brothers but to politicize loss is a cheapening of their sacrifice and should be "called out."
I give Anne C. credit for calling a spade a spade!

Where is the liberal support of our young men making sacrifice when they are alive????? To me lack of support/comforting the enemy is treason!
Don't get me started on Kerry either!!!

Goodwill, is letting someone "hang in the wind" the same as a free pass? It sure doesn't sound like one to me.

Vman.....these so called "attackproof" speakers are entitled to their opinion. If they wish to take their cause public, they have every right. Apparently their only crime is criticizing Bush....last time I checked, it was not treason to disagree with the president. Funny how criticizing the president seems to only be a crime when a republican is president.

I've said many times before, it is entirely possible to support the troops but not the war. Let's use sports as an analogy. If a parent disagrees with the decisions of the coach of a local team and publicly criticizes those decisions, does it mean the parent does not support their child and his/her teammates? This notion of people not supporting the troops because we oppose the war is completley without merit.

I'm actually kind of glad that Ann Coulter made those senseless statements in her book. It will not help the republicans one iota come election time. The people who agree with her will vote republican no matter what. However, there are a lot of people sitting on the fence this time around. Ms. Coulter just represented the right wing with a vicious statement that will be cast on all those republicans running for office. Even though some Republicans have publicly denounced her statement, the damage has been done. She hasn't won any new friends for the republican party with her latest comments.

I think what we ought to do is to listen to those 2 New Jersey Democrat representatives and BAN that book from all book stores.

What do you think of that OAR? Demo(hypo)crat free speech at it's finest.

Unbelieveable oar are you trying to tell us the libs don't make any comments that are senseless??? Where could I begin? I found Howard Dean's comment this morning quite sensless concerning the Rove deal, "its a good day for the White House and a bad day for America." Actually its a good day on both counts.

Of course I'm opposed to banning her book. Just as I was opposed to the right wingers who wanted to ban Michael Moore's movie. Put it out there and let the people decide.

I think it's great that she is getting all this publicity. The more she shows herself to the general public, the more she'll turn off people to the republican party. Her name calling diatribes are not winning her any friends. If anything, they are costing her, and her party, credibility.

Goodwill, I've never defended comments by democrats that I thought were in appropriate. My point is simply that it's politics and it happens on both sides. For the republicans to claim moral high ground when pundits like Coulter spit venom and hate is a bit contradictory. Yes, the democrats do it, but it happens on BOTH sides.

One more thing goodwill....how is getting throw under the pass getting a free pass? I'm still not clear on this.

The democatic does not have any more need for this guy so therefore they have washed their hands of him. If you don't get it I guess you never will.
