Home & Field Opener Unfriendly to Lions

Post by cweg1925 »

The United Lions opened up a newly renovated field in Armagh last night but the Laurel Valley Rams did not take kindly to the new surroudings and lights around Madill field last night as they beat the host Lions 41-0 in the first night game at United High School.

I would like to congratulate United on the great new facilities and to the Rams who moved to 2-1 and seem to be ready to roll now after a week one setback.

What are anyone else's thoughts on the Heritage after 3 weeks of play? I still think Marion Center is the top of the conference but with 4 other teams just a game back at 2-1 what will be the games that make and break what happens the rest of the season.

First, I feel that the Heritage is not as strong as it has been the last 4 or 5 years. MC does seem to be the team to beat but LV, PL and Ligonier are also in the hunt. NC is an unknown to me but can act as a spoiler for one of the top 4. Blairsville is half a team. Their O looks pretty good but their D is absolutely terrible. If they get that straightened out even a little, they also can be spoilers. But right now MC is in the driver's seat.

By the way most on this board know the LH and Westpac much more than the Heritage so you may not get a lot of posts.
