Pentrino leaves for Atlanta Falcons

Post by abpk2903 »

ESPN reports Bobby Petrrino leaves for the NFL only one year after signing a ten year deal with the Louisville Cardinals!!!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2723700

How will this impact the Cardinals program that has been very, very good the last few years?

As for Louisville, they have some nice depth and a lot coming back, plus I think they'll hire someone who can be competitive. It's an attractive job w/ all those players.

BOBBY PETRINO.... what can I even say? Here's a guy who won a ton of games with John L. Smith's players. Tell me what Petrino has done at Louisville besides lose every big game he played in. Yeah, this is another real stand-up guy. Remember a few years ago when the secret leaked out that Petrino illegally met with Auburn officials DURING THE SEASON? Yeah, that didn't go over too well, and all he did for 2-3 years after that was lie through his teeth and convince everybody how he'd never leave Louisville. I remember all this talk from Pitino and Petrino about how they were so dead committed to winning national titles. This guy is so disgustingly overrated that it is ridiculous. 24 million over 5 years. 4 years from now, Bobby Petrino will be the head coach at Western Michigan, because there is no way in hell the Falcons are going to keep him for 5 years after they see how poor of a coach he really is. I guarantee you that that idiot ownership in Atlanta let Michael Vick have a say in who the new coach is. The Falcons have an insane commitment to mediocrity. This is another tragic tale of people with tons of money thinking they know everything about football, i.e. the Alabama boosters. What a joke. This idiot won't even get that team over .500.

Micheal Vick will have him out of Atlanta in the next 3 seasons because a professional team can't win consistantly with Mick Vick's style of play and Micheal Vick is tough on coaches as it is.

Louisville is still a top 10 team

..Brohm his top 2 WR's(Urrutia and Douglas) plus 2 of the 3 RB's this season

it will be a high powered offense once again

and this has been what Petrino's 1000th offer to leave Louisville and he finally did

If you ask me, I think Louisville has the opportunity right now to actually take the next step. They do have a great level of talent, I hope they can still keep those good recruits on board, and I think the pieces are in place, right now with Petrino gone, to hire a guy who can win a big game. I think Bobby Petrino sucks as a coach, and I think Louisville was never going over 11-2 with that knucklehead as a coach.
