Re: Overated Teams in the LHAC
alright i`ll admit it Vman FH did underachieve this year... Although there were many holes that were on the FH team i geuss when u come from a school like that then if you don`t when a championship (LH or D6 ) then it is considered an underachievement... but i will not say BM underachieved, everyone in this conference knew the talent and potential they had.
It's tough when you are the Program who set the standard for football in the Johnstown region. It's almost like being Hulk Hogan...but not quite.
OG, you amuse me. I must first thank you for that.
Yes...isn't what this board is for? Pointless bantor.
Secondly, maybe you should go ask Doc Ryan what a colon is. This punctuation mark signals the continuation of a thought in the next sentence. So maybe you should be the one goin back to school for real to learn your grammar.
Ugh...Doc Ryan taught Oral Communications, not Composition I or II. And BTW...Vman (The self-proclaimed Sheriff) is the only one on BC who has the "Authority" to hand out grammar lessons!
31 doesnt equal 75. So thank you for proving yourself wrong on that one.
Yea...I am aware of that. The 75% # was from an argument from the LH-sports days, so that year was 2001 or 2002. And, as you noted, I sent the job-squad back to check the numbers from last year (I wasted 45 minutes of my life last night) and did the % for 05-06. So, the OG apologizes for misleading you.
However, 31% is still a little more than 3x the amount of Private schools that make up the PIAA. So obviously, there is something happening at these schools.
And your names are just hilarious. Do you do stand-up? I guess not, being that everyone would tell you to sit down.
I'm glad you have jokes too. I think it was Usher who first said "Let it Burn".

Re: Overated Teams in the LHAC
GoldenBoy has a couple responses:
I realize that all non-public schools arent necessarily "Catholic." But in terms of the Laurel Highlands area, Catholic schools are really the only non-public schools who compete in sports. Obviously, though, this is not the case elsewhere. I'll be sure to use the correct adjective "private" from now on.
Also, I must apologize to vman for impersonating the grammar patrol here on BC. But you need not worry, for GB has already sent his monthly tithe in to the vman monetary foundation. All hail vman.
And by no means was I trying to say that private schools are no different from public schools. Private schools obviously have some advantages -- unlimited area to draw from being the main one -- that public schools never get to enjoy. But I was trying present an opportunity to get the best out of a bad situation for all you public schoolers. My bad if i didnt state that clear enough. Because after all, if life gives you lemons . . .
(I must admit, OG, I am a fan of usher -- we even share the same hometown)

---wouldn't Johnstown High School/Windber from the good old days be the programs that set the standard for football in the Johnstown region?

Coach Buzz had been the CC head football coach for 15 (?) or so years before stepping down after the '03 season to become principal of the school.

I can understand where you're coming from with that. But I would say that these Jtown and Windber programs really set a high standard for the area. They made all the schools in the greater johnstown area play harder. Everyone wanted to be as good as these guys...but whatever it's not really important.

But what about the Hulk Hogan reference? C'mon...I'm diggin
