Ridge in MAC
Re: Ridge in MAC
No worries here lefteye. I'm all for better competition, but i am not like most in the district. One thing that I am not for is running Jr. High, 8th and 7th grade kids to Clearfield on thursday school nights. They will either get home extremely late with no chance to do home work or get out of school really early for a 4:00 games and miss a large portion of their classes.

Re: Ridge in MAC
Lefteye after 15 years of coaching JH football I've hung up the cleats for awhile!
Ridge has been one of the bigger AA schools the last 5 years but our enrollment was 200 in 2000 and will be around that number again for the next count and will remain about there for the forseeable future. This is no guesstimation I've seen the enrollment numbers for all grades K-12 and there is not much flucuation.
Left-eye: Being from Bedford I would seriously worry about the Bisons future being considered one of the elite teams in the LHAC. From what I have seen the cupboard is getting bare. THe Basketball program is a shambles the girls and boys teams both can't compete year to year and I see some sub .500 football teams in the very near future! Of course you can recruit some more from the farm teams Hyndman and Everett. Already heard that the Hyndman Heavyweight is a prospect for the line next year. Just sign him up to take Latin and he'll be a starting tackle. LOL!

I understand what you are saying Hoggy, but it can't be that much further then a moshannon valley or penns valley. It would be nice for Jr. High teams to play local schedules. That way southy could keep his .900 winning %.
Southy, I have no doubt that without some kids really stepping up or some supurb coaching Bedford will be down the next couple of years. But being from Bedford I welcome the challenge. You don't run from better competition. You work hard and get better. I took pride in playing the best the area had to offer. Hopefully that won't change at Bedford.
I don't know I would go too far into the recruiting talk southy. I know a pretty darn good wrestler for CR lives in Bedford school district. It always seems that CR finds a few displaced kids every year to add to the football program. Remember Hyndman is part of the bedford school district. He has every right to come down and take some Latin classes. LOL By the way. You forgot about us bringing in the kid from Florida. Your slipping southy.

We tend to keep recruiting regional not nationwide. lol. Although we almost had a kid from Texas that played 5A ball for next season.
If the Hyndman kid takes classes at Bedford is their enrollment going to count in with Bedford's? I don't know how Bedford has gotten away with that over the years.

Re: Ridge in MAC
BTW my JH winning percentage is only .800 those three ties hurt! Non losing percentage is .870! lol Oh well I won't be improving on that for about 10-15 years, its somebody else's turn!
I hope Hogg want to take over!
Unrelated but Chuck Corle has a record of 91-2 over the last 6 seasons in JH wrestling. A .980 winning percentage! I don't seriously brag (just some ocassional kidding around) on JH performance but this is quite an accomplishment!
I agree Southpaw and I think you will see the remaining ICC schools competing in all sports together in the very near future. TM, E, and NB do not have any problem competing with CR in other sports or football but they are the minority.
Who/what school(s) are the "etc." you mention? I don't think there are any others who feel the same way.
I agree with your consistency theory whoeheartedly. Too bad the decision-makers at CR haven't in the past. When being practically begged by the Tri-Co Wrestling League (same teams as ICC) to join on numerous occassions in late 90's early 00's CR chose to turn their backs on the very people they wanted to play football with.
Being very blunt, the perception of the District 6 ICC schools toward CR is this: "We are good enough for them to play in football, but nothing else" -- and I'm not saying I agree with it but looking through their eyes I can see where they are coming from.
Your point is well taken HR. The others I was referring to were schools who went along with the hatchet job who really didn't have a problem playing us in football. Unofficially talking to coaches (not AD's) from MV, BA, PV, and CK didn't mind playing us in football. But as I said the point on Tri-County wrestling is well taken.

Re: Ridge in MAC
BTW HR are you referring to an ICC all sports conference? Does that include the Sideling Hill leagues? Will Ridge get the hatchet job on that merger?

I guess you can tell I'm bored to death being snowed in. However things could get interesting as I'm looking out the window I see a cow acting real fidgety like she wants to drop a calf!
