DIRECTIONS TO YOUGH SENIOR HIGH & DISTRICT OFFICES, HERMINIE, PA .
From PA. Turnpike-New Stanton Exit #8/75
Take I-70 W to the West Newton/Rt. 31 Exit #51B. At the exit ramp stop sign, turn left. This will lead to Rt. 31. Turn right onto Rt. 31 W. Travel west for 3.1 miles to the intersection of PA Rt. 136. Turn right on Rt. 136 E and travel east for 2.9 miles to S.R. 3057 (Herminie Road). THIS ROAD IS NOT WELL MARKED. Turn left onto Herminie Road and travel north for 2.3 miles to the intersection. This is a 4-way stop intersection. There is a Exxon and Dairy Queen on the corner. Turn left and travel for .7 miles and Yough High School will be on the right.
From the Washington PA area using I-70
Take I-70 E to the West Newton/Rt. 31 Exit #51B. Exit onto clover-leaf ramp and you will be on Rt. 31 W. Follow the above paragraph for directions to the school.
From north of Greensburg
Take PA Route 119 South. Route 119 S will run directly into I-70 in New Stanton. Follow the directions in the paragraph #1 to the school.
From east of Greensburg
Take Route 30W to PA Route 119 South. Route 119 S will run directly into I-70 in New Stanton. Follow paragraph #1 for directions to the school.
From the Pittsburgh area using Route 30
Travel east on Rt. 30. Norwin Town Square is on your right, Chesterfields Restaurant is on your left. At the light just beyond the shopping center, a road bears off to your right and goes uphill. (There is an Eckerd drug store.) This is Clay Pike Road. Continue on Clay Pike Rd for approx 3-4 miles. You will go through 3 stop lights. You will enter Rillton PA. There is a stop sign. Continue straight through the stop sign. Continue for approx 2 miles. This brings you into Herminie. As your enter Herminie, there will be a BP on your left. Approx. 800 ft. beyond is Mayers Maytag on your right. Just before the store, turn right onto Railroad Street. At the end of the street, turn right, proceed up the hill and the school will be on your right.
From the Pittsburgh area using PA Route 51
Travel south on Rt. 51 to the Route 136 exit. At exit ramp stop sign, turn left and travel east. You will pass through West Newton. As you leave West Newton, you will go up a steep hill. As your proceed up the hill you will pass Hope Veterinary Hospital, and a Citgo. Rt. 136 turns left just beyond these. Turn left onto Rt. 136. Travel for 2.9 miles to S.R. 3057 (Herminie Rd) THIS IS POORLY MARKED. Turn left onto Herminie Rd. Travel 2.3 miles to an intersection. Dairy Queen and an Exxon will be in front of you. Turn left and travel .7 miles. The high school will be on your right.
From PA Turnpike using Exit #67Irwin (Old Exit 7)
Exit turnpike at #7. Take Rt. 30 East towards Greensburg. You will turn right at the first traffic light by BP. Continue to next stop sign, turn right.(First National Bank of PA will be on your left). You will be on this road for approx. 5 miles. At the end of the road, turn right. This becomes Main Street in Herminie. At the second stop sign, turn left. Continue thru two more stop signs, and turn right. (A medical center will be in front of you). This will bring you to an Exxon and Dairy Queen. Continue straight. The school is .7 miles on your right hand side.
From Rt. 66 (Toll Road)
On Rt. 66, get off at the Rt. 136 West Newton exit. At the end of the exit ramp, make a right. A few hundred yards, the road ends at a T intersection. Turn left. This is Rt. 136. Continue on this road for about 6 miles. You will go through two stop signs. (About half way, Rt. 136 turns left-YOU WON’T TURN LEFT-CONTINUE STRAIGHT!) This becomes Main St. in Herminie. There is a stop sign (the 3rd sign you will come to). Go straight through this sign one short block. Turn left. Go two short blocks, turn right. At a stop sign by Dairy Queen and Exxon, go straight. The high school is .7 miles on the right hand side.
