W.P.I.A.L. Boys Basketball: 2006-2007 Review and 2007-2008 Preview......

This weekend is the tipoff of the "2007-2008" high school boys basketball season in the W.P.I.A.L. A year ago, West Allegheny in (AAA) and Leechburg in (A) made surprising postseason runs that ended in gold while regular season powers Bethel Park in (AAAA) and Aliquippa in (AA) also claimed district championships. These four schools now put their crowns on the line as defending champs with a new season beginning on Friday.
Here is a preview of this "2007-2008" season and a review of the "2006-2007" W.P.I.A.L. boys basketball season.

This weekend is the tipoff of the "2007-2008" high school boys basketball season in the W.P.I.A.L. A year ago, West Allegheny in (AAA) and Leechburg in (A) made surprising postseason runs that ended in gold while regular season powers Bethel Park in (AAAA) and Aliquippa in (AA) also claimed district championships. These four schools now put their crowns on the line as defending champs with a new season beginning on Friday.

This weekend is the tipoff of the "2007-2008" high school girls basketball season in the W.P.I.A.L. Last year, New Castle in (AAAA), Hopewell in (AAA), Greensburg Central Catholic in (AA) and North Catholic in (A) were all dominant queens of the hardwood en route to a W.P.I.A.L. golden crown. These four schools now put their crowns on the line as defending champs with a new season beginning on Friday. This weekend is the tipoff of the "2007-2008" high school girls basketball season in the W.P.I.A.L. Last year, New Castle in (AAAA), Hopewell in (AAA), Greensburg Central Catholic in (AA) and North Catholic in (A) were all dominant queens of the hardwood en route to a W.P.I.A.L. golden crown.
