who in the world is going to be playing for the NCAAF championship? OSU vs. Georgia???

Well, OSU has definitely back doored there way in via a weak conference and no conference championship game to endure. The other spot has a host of different arguments:

The Two loss teams vying and their arguments:
1. Georgia....seems to be playing as well as anyone over the last 5-weeks of the season
2. LSU.....Won the SEC, UGa. didn't even make the Championship Game would be their argument
3. So. Cal....playing better again over last couple weeks but ranked below both SEC teams
4. Va. Tech....playing pretty well but was killed by aforementioned LSU earlier in the season.
5. Oklahoma.....Big 12 Champs convincingly over Missouri in only conference with 3 bonafide top ten teams.

How 'bout one Loss Kansas?????

If Georgia gets in with two losses and not playing in their conference championship game, why not "forgive" Kansas for their one loss and lack of qualifying for the Big-12 title tilt and give them the shot? After all, they have equaled Ohio States one loss status and OSU didn't play in a 13th game (conf. playoff) either.

No Loss Hawaii

Normally I would say no-way, and based on Washington early big lead in their game being played, this argument may be a moot point but.....A zero loss team classified as Division I--like it or not what conference they are in--versus two loss teams being touted as possible Championship game entries....it could be argued the undefeated team deserves a shot.

LSU has as strong an argument via SEC Conference win as any two loss team but how can you ignore one-loss Kansas and what makes them any worse a choice than Ohio State? Kansas loss was to a bona fide top ten team at least, whereas Ohio States was not.

This is definitely a mess but we'll never see a playoff. Best we will ever see is a 3-round type system where conferences will either have playoffs or be mandated (would love to see, as an example, the Big East vs Big Ten--force them to play when the SEC, ACC, and Big-12 are playing) to play a first week in December playoff type or elimination game followed by a plus one model with semifinals in the form of the current BCS Bowls with two survivors meeting a week and a half to two weeks later.

This year you would probably see (without the mandated games I'm suggesting for the Pac-10, Big 10 and Big East) a semifinal round of bowls including: Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, and USC or Va. Tech.

I typed out a really long 12-week football season, 4-week playoff system. Oklahoma got left out. Then I quit.

LSU gets the nod....no surprise there but who is really the best team. We the fans are robbed of ever knowing. Not only that but the other BCS matchups are far from interesting and won't help us answer any of our questions. I realize there are league tie-ins but wouldn't it have been nice to see Georgia vs USC in the Rose or Oklahoma in the Fiesta instead of the matchups we got.

I still say make everyone play an extra game....Conferences that don't play a championship game get matched up. Next week under my personal plan, Ohio State would play WVU and Hawaii would play USC. Big East, Big 10, Pac-10, and highest rated "other" conf. champ or independent (Navy, ND, etc.) would be the four "play-in" teams. 4 highest rated of the 5 Conf. Championship/Play-in games get into the National Semis on NY Day.

USC and Ohio State wins would put them in with two highest rated conference champs, LSU and Oklahoma into the semi's on New Years Day with Plus One Model Championship to follow approx. 2-weeks later.

Va. Tech would be on the bubble and could get in under my plan with a USC loss and possibly with an Ohio St. loss (would come down to WVU or Va. Tech)

Someone deserving (Va Tech, Ga) might still be left out but you have to win your conference to win the National Title and it's better than what we have.

I saw a funny idea... just don't award it to anyone this year because nobody really deserves to be one of the two teams in the game.

LSU did not lose a game in regulation which says something for them that others can't say. A loss is a loss, but 3 OT games are tough.....

I would have loved to see Hawaii get a shot.

I'm glad Kansas didn't even sniff a shot...their schedule rank was 110 out of 119.

Interesting non-BCS bowl at first glance... Cotton- Mizzou vs. Arkansas

I think the difference between Ohio State and Kansas is partially name recognition and partially the way they played. OSU dominated Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn State (two of them on the road) and their only loss was by a touchdown to a 9-3 BCS team. They did not play any great teams, but other than their loss, they dominated everyone.

I think the team that got shafted is Oklahoma. Their one loss came without their starting quarterback. The loss to Colorado is inexcusable, but how are losses to Kentucky and Arkansas any more excusable. Oklahoma was dominant on Saturday, whereas LSU had to squeak by with a defensive touchdown against Tennessee. I don't think Tennessee is really better than Missouri. I think that if there were a playoff, Oklahoma would probably win.

Hopefully, Ohio State wins the game and puts an end to discussion, but I can't find a spot on the field where OSU has a decided advantage. The only major advantage that OSU has is they have a much better coach on the sidelines.
