Gazette wrestling coverage
Re: Gazette wrestling coverage
Much of your frustration should be directed toward the parents rather than the sport....a healthy diet should be the goal, especially in the elementary programs....

Re: Gazette wrestling coverage
There are many websites dedicated to results and coverage of elementary wrestling tournaments. I too think they don't really need to be in the local newspapers. Coach, at least the Gazette publishes a small story and results from the JH matches. You would think the Mirror would, especially when it's one of their local "big time" schools that is participating in the match (ie. Hollidaysburg). My opinion is probably only worth .01.........

Re: Gazette wrestling coverage
that's what I was getting at... There aren't full blown JH articles, and if anything was to be covered more in depth it would be that and not elem in my opinion.

Re: Gazette wrestling coverage
I certainly agree with that. I think the extent of junior high and elementary coverage in the Gazette is sufficient. I've always been a fan of giving all the attention and accolades to the varsity athletes, so that the younger athletes have something to shoot for.

I agree that all of the accolades should go to the Varsity Athletes, however, it would be nice to show Bedford County Wrestling Tournament results and to see the upcoming Wrestlers in the area or to highlight the area programs. I think that the Gazette has plenty of room for more local sports coverage for all ages.
