Well Folks its powerade tournament time once again and 2 local teams are in it NS And Westmont any thoughts on the tourney

Kushner and Bennett should place for Westy.

Lascari likely the only placewinner for North Star. He made the finals last year at 103. Maybe Zimmerman also in the top eight.

It is a very tough tournament. It's great that these two local teams were invited. Their success the past few seasons have apparently caught the eyes of tournament officials. This is the third year, I believe, that NS is in the field. Westmont should fare better than North Star overall, although I wouldn't expect a lot of placewinners from either team.

Ranked the top tourney in Pa. and fifth toughest in the nation, according to USA Wrestling.com

42 teams in the field
Two teams to watch -- Central Dauphin won the 2007 PIAA Class AAA team championship last season while Christiansburg has won the past four consecutive Virginia Class AA team titles.

Returning Powerade champions from last year -- Shane Young of Penn Trafford (103), Nico Cortese of Hempfield (119), Marshall Peppelman of Central Dauphin (130), Walt Peppelman of Central Dauphin (135), Sam Rakes of Christiansburg, Va. (160), and Andy Thomas of Parkersburg, W.Va. (189).

Bennett won't be placing; he's having surgery in January, done for the year. Sad to see a good kid and returning champ not get a chance. Best of luck to him.
