PSU Drops Like Stone
PSU in the middle of celebrating their 100 years of wrestling season was on top of the world just 2 days ago; now they probably feel like someone killed their puppy. After dropping a 19-13 decision to Nebraska in the quarterfinals, Psu managed to beat Cornell again and snuck by Iowa State then got smoked by Ohio State in the 5th place match 24-11. Jake Strayer split the 5 matches with Garret Scott at the duals; Strayer went 1-2 while Scott logged a pin and a tech fall in his 2 matches going 2-0. Hopefully the Lions will eat some cheese and get their crap together before traveling back out to Iowa next week to face the Hawkeyes.

In Strayer's defense: His grandmother died probably the same day as PSU left for Iowa. He wasn't notified until some time later. Would anyone want to have to decide either to pack it in and head home, or wrestle knowing a loved one was dead? Tough call. He'll rebound from this.

I have no doubt Strayer will rebound and be an All-American again. My only thought is that you are looking at a possible top 3 guy in Garrett Scott. How do you find a solution?

Re: PSU Drops Like Stone
PSU hits a wall every year about this time; I don't think it's conditioning, maybe too much? Look at the Iowa match they dropped over the weekend. Scott loses by a point to Leclere shouldn't have happened. McNight loses another close match that shouldn't have been close(starting to think his hype is bigger than his talent), and Jenkins was unbeaten and ranked very high 2 weeks ago, then gets pinned in a match I'm sure Sunderland was hoping for bonus points in favor of PSU. The score(27-13) was close to what it should have been, but Iowa wasn't supposed to be the team with 27. Troy better figure out where that wall is coming from soon, or they will never stay in the top 5 in the future either, it just hurts more this year because they have the horses in place to run.
