I clicked on a few more of the videos on the right and came across the tape of Cary Kolat's 1st state title match vs Tony Owens, forgot that Tony was actually hanging in with Kolat(8-5) when Kolat stuck him in the 3rd.Wrestled with "D" back in the day; that was cool.

Eagle, you inspired me to go look for that Kolat match. Kolat pretty much dominated the match except for the late 2nd period takedown and the 30 secs that Owens had on top. It looked to me like Owens was a heck of a leg rider and he was working Kolat pretty well. I think he might have had a better shot if he would have chose top in the third period and thrown the legs back in rather than choosing down where he eventually got pinned.
I also watched Kolat's final from his junior and senior seasons. What a wrestler, but what an array of junk moves including the one that injured the wrestler his senior year.

He was a "junk wrestler" to a point, but his thing was his motor and quickness. He never quit, and went full throttle in everything. If you watched a number of his high school matches you'd see numerous bad shots or "bonehead" moves that he pushed so hard, they worked anyway. He was fun to watch(except when it was your buddy out there against him).

There are parts of Kolat's wrestling that remind me of, not surprisingly, Garrett Scott. I bet Scott has watched a Kolat video or two in his day.
