The only real comparison we have on these two teams is that they have both played The Shanksville Vikings this season. Shade spilt with the Vikings during the regular season winning the first game 49-38 and dropping the second 64-60 before winning the rubber match 59-50 in the D5 Semi Finals. Southern Fulton played Shanksville once this year losing at Shanksville 41-38. This will be Shade’s second time playing at the UPJ Sports center this year. After not reaching the Championship since Shade Coach Wade Fyock was a player back in the 80’s. Shade lost to West Pac Champion Conemaugh Township 59-55 in the game.
Southern Fulton is no stranger to District 5 Championship games playing in several over the past few years. They handle 5th seeded Fanett-Metal rather easily in the first round of the playoffs and then upset a very good Conemaugh Township team in round two.
Both teams seem to match up will with neither having a lot of height. Both ballclub's have a well rounded scoring approach that is guard oriented and play in your face man-to-man defense. We should see a lot of unselfish play and hustle in this one. I know I am looking forward to it.

I know the game is only 4 hours away, but I just got home from work; and I would like to throw in a couple cents here.

Indians' Fans' Fears: Panther Offense!; I don't know how well the Indians will respond to such an offensive powerhouse.
Despite the prowless of Shade's offense, Southern Fulton can straight shut people down. I, however, do not believe its so much tenacious defense as pure tempo. The Indians like to slow the game down and play in the slop and a lot of teams have trouble doing that (Semifinal victory over Township 36-30 in OT!!).
Final Say: SF 52 Shade 50

Defense wins championships!! Southern Fulton played incredible TEAM defense and dominated the boards in an impressive victory tonight. Jake McCarthy almost singlehandedly outscored the entire Shade team, scoring 21 points.
