Panel of Sportswriters and other "experts" across the state vote based on the nominees.

Who nominates and how are the nominations made? Is every coach aware of the procedures for nominations or are some just lazy?

Nominations must come from Sportswriters...some coaches are proactive and make sure their local sports editor nominates kids they feel are deserving and some don't bother.

The lineman position may be the most unfair of all selected. They go mostly on size and if you are going to college. If you are playing at the next level D-1a, you will be 1st team more than likely, and those players are not always the best. Henne should be AAAA player of the year IMO, he tore it up and is better than Morelli, but Morelli will get more pub than him because he was signed with Pitt and went to the Elite 11 camp in Cali.

That is interesting splitting all the classes up, I like it, more kids envolved.

Francisco was big but he didn't play like it. He was a very undeserving all-state nominee.

First,I want to respond to the guy that was badmouthing Francisco from Glendale. He may have been the best single A LB around last year.If you haven't noticed,11 people take the field at one time for a team.If the other 10 bite, that team is gonna give up some yards.Look at Condo from P-O a couple years ago.P-O gave up big yards,Condo rushed 15 times for 11 yards on us,but he's seeing the field now for Maryland. You can't make chicken soup outta chicken poop;if the rest of the team blows, why fault a kid with talent?Yes big players make plays;but when the rest of the team is awful, the big player can't make 72 plays in a row.
