Officiating II

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Going into the night games, this is already by far the worst week of officiating I have ever seen. Without any question whatsoever.

Like I said before, Memphis should not have given up 3 garbage TDs and they would not have lost. But the refs screwed Memphis.

In that UT / OU game... good God. How many bad calls did we see in that game, both ways?

Notre Dame / UNC: Another game with a bunch of bad calls. That final play... I was sure ND was going to be handed a gift-wrapped chance inside the ten. It was a fumble, but they never should have been there in the first place had it not been for ANOTHER bad call.

If you fired all the bad officials in the world, there wouldnt be any left to call a single game.

The point is, the refs are there to referee, not to determine outcomes.

The referee in the PSU/Wisky game last night sounded like he was out in the parking lot tailgaiting all day. Awful communication skills.

There for a while in the Texas/OK game there was a flag on what seemed like every play for about 3 series in a row. How bout the late hit call in McCoy and the roughing the kicker call against UT. Some good acting going on in that game.

That roughing the kicker call was so bad. That was the best acting ive ever seen in my life by a punter though. He got hit about as hard as a fly would have hit him, and he fell to the ground and faked a little pain. Guess the refs only saw him on the ground and not the initial non-contact hit.

I hate to see great games go down to officiating and that was almost what the OU vs. UT game came down to. It was bad both ways throughout the whole game. I was glad to see it did not make or break the game.

There is absolutely no way this was not deliberate.

He was a linebacker at Kentucky and it showed. My roommate was at this game and did not even see this happen. He may have had one too many before this game started. I think he thought I was trying to be rude when I pointed this out to him, but that was just ridiculous. At least South Carolina scored a TD on that drive.

The South Carolina coach as well as everyone else saw no problem with it after replaying the tape. Put yourself in a referees shoes anyway. You're right in the middle of the action weighing no more than 220 pounds, no equipment, and standing still most the time to avoid contact. There are players out there 300 pounds, fully equipped, and running full speed to tackle the ballcarrier. This ref knew it was either him or the QB, so he just laid his a$$ out. hahaha. that was the funniest thing i ever saw. He literally made lateral movement, lined up the QB, got into tackling position and lifted through the hips with a forearm shiver. Greatest thing ive ever seen.

Heres the video..hahahaha
