Top 10 QBs Passing Yards (so far)
Re: Top 10 QBs Passing Yards (so far)
Ok so a kid can wind up and chuck it 60 yards. Whoop de do. I'd rather have a kid who can spray it around accurately within 30 yards everywhere on the field.
Example 1: Anthony Morelli had one of the strongest arms in college football last year...did that make him the best quarterback?
Example 2: Marco Pecora had a "below average" arm by some standards...did that keep him from being one of the most successful QBs in the state?
My point is that it's all relative. If you have a deep threat at wideout who can stretch the field and you rely on the vertical passing game, sure the stronger the arm the better. And if you're a quick passing team that relies on shorter, more accurate throws, a 40 yard arm is just as good as a 60 yard arm.
But for me personally -- I'd rather have a QB who can make all the throws instead of just one big long one.

Check Thursday's Mirror stat page. The kid has a 67% comp rate, I'd say that's accurate.9/2 td/int, and more passing yards than Clearfields' Campman. I'll keep the one we got.Achilles wrote:Ok so a kid can wind up and chuck it 60 yards. Whoop de do. I'd rather have a kid who can spray it around accurately within 30 yards everywhere on the field.
